Bodrum to the Ancient Cities of:
Didyma, Priene and Miletos
The site of ancient Priene is 130Km south of Izmir and 15Km from the town of Soke. It is an early example of town planning under limiting conditions and follows the colonial planning system of Hippodamos.
If had not been completely destroyed in the Persian Wars in 494 BC, Miletos and not Athens, would have become the spiritual and economic center of Greece. The extensive remains of the city were rebuilt by the Romans on the foundations of the Greek city. Originally a port, Miletos is now some 10Kms from the sea.
After lunch we travel on to Didyma visiting the Temple of Apollo. Following by some free time in the resort town of Actinium after which we return to Bodrum.
The tour includes an English speaking official guide, all incidental fees and entrance fees to the sites listed in the itinerary.
